This site originated from an Msn Group based rp which a few of us decided to turn into a full scale proboard Roleplaying Game.
9th Wonders is a place where fans of the popular tv show HEROES can come along and take part in a large on going roleplaying game.
As everyone is aware Heroes is a show about ordinary everday people who find that they have gained extraordinary abilities
Volume 4: On The Run
For years those with abilities have kept a low profile, their existence has been a secret...until now.
Actions of specials have slowly been noticed and a certain someone is willing to turn their back on all that they have previously hidden to open up a whole new door to the government. Their awareness of these different individuals and their potential means that no one is safe.
The past is in the past. Good or bad none of it matters anymore. Everyone is in the same situation. It's time to hunt or be hunted, run or fight, flee or be caught because the government have no cares as to how specials use their abilities, the threat is that they have them.
Government control means anyone can suddenly become a someone: a terrorist, a murderer, a kidnapper...Public watch tv and read newspapers...and the danger is that they believe.
With such control there is little chance of escape or at least not for long.
Those with abilities now have to make a choice for the safety of their future. The choice they make is theirs alone and each one will come with a consequence.

James is a very interesting and peculiar character. He doesn't do drugs or drink alcohol, and he is also quite intense. He tends to stick to himself but likes to watch people and when he does actually talk to them, he's very charming. He loves to play the guitar and read books. He is extremely loyal to those he gets to know. He is laid back and has a sarcastic sense of humor. Then: (atleast 2 paragraphs) James Mason was born in a small town called Washington Depot, Conneticut. His mother's name is Cecilia Mason and his father bailed before he was born. James has always been a very observant and quiet person, even as a kid. He is still very close to the mother who raised him and loved him.
In school, James was always that misunderstood loner kid. He was never really into sports like the other boys, even through college. He did, however, learn how to play guitar and sing when he was about 14. He began to become well known for his musical talent around his small town and James loved the power his music had over people. After James graduated, he moved to New York to persue a career in music.
While in New York, he met a few people and made little friends. He began to notice that he could sense a person's ability and be drawn to them more than others. One day, a friend of his came clean that they had the ability to read people's thoughts. He told his friend about how he actually knew it all along. They began researching and voila.... he came to the realization that he had a power sensing ability.

Now James lives in New York City, in an apartment by himself. He spends a lot of time sitting on benches either playing his guitar for a few bucks or reading a novel. Its just an excuse to try to read people and see if they have abilities. He spends a lot of time researching and trying to make sense of his ability.
On nights, James plays in clubs and bars, but never drinks. He has always felt that drugs and alcohol bring the worst out of people. He also works part-time at a computer repair store.

Sample Roleplay:
James sat on his favorite bench in Central Park, reading one of his favorite novels, "Moby thingy." It was an unfortunate sunny day, yet he was sitting under a nice willow tree. He was in a very good mood at the moment. His show last night received an encore and he made some great cash in return. He was getting rather tired of living off of ramen noodles. Tonight he could treat himself to a hamburger.
He watched as a few people walked by, but didn't sense an ounce of abilities. He went back to reading his book which he was already halfway finished with. Although he had read this book a billion times, he always found himself amused with it. Suddenly, he looked up as a young boy walked past with his father. He immediately could feel the power radiate for the kid and found out that he was empathic. This was a rather common ability, yet he figured it could be useful. His favorite ability that he sensed was when he once saw an old man walk by with women on each arms like Hugh Hefner. It turned out that the man had an uncanny ability to make a woman feel attracted to him, even in his old age.
James laughed as the kid looked at him and his father gave him a weird glare as if he was some pedofile checking out his kid. James simply waved politely and went back to his book.
